A&D Virtual classroom in comparison to a traditional classroom requires the same concentration of time and lessons applied in traditional settings (Tucker, 2001). In short, online classes are now being valued as equivalent in comparison to original methods. With that, online student now surpass classroom students because of the skills incorporated with online classroom requirements. These students now equipped with the same standard education are also learning navigation techniques and common applications involved with online applications (Tucker, 2001).These skills that are now considered a part of the learning experience offered online which surpasses what is originally offered with traditional methods. According to J. Johnson, Assistant Manager at Pepsi of Orlando, “Working in today’s competitive market can be affected by the knowledge behind computer skills” (personal communication, March 15, 2009).Mr. Johnson is someone who has only experienced traditional schooling. What I was able to gather from the interview was that although he had a strong academic knowledge for various subjects his use of computer literacy was very limited. This disadvantage has limited certain opportunities within career growth. This is something that is common among older generations of adults who didn’t have experience within online learning. Furthermore, I feel traditional schooling is a method used frequently, but it does not provide a realistic forecast of preparation for readiness for today’s employment.
